Toll Opens New Facility In New Plymouth
Toll has made new inroads to improve their efficiency across the country with their recent opening of a depot in the Taranaki region. The company has long been one of NZ’s leading end-to-end transport services and this new unveiling will enable the company to meet the rampant demands of consumers.
A new 3,500-square-metre Toll New Zealand site in New Plymouth has officially opened.
Neil Holdom, Mayor of New Plymouth, joined Toll New Zealand’s Executive General Manager Jon Adams online due to the current Alert Level 3 restrictions, and Branch Manager, Willy Harvey to unveil the modern logistics depot to Toll employees and customers.
Adams said the new hub will service the Taranaki region and create a more efficient working environment for Toll employees to service customers’ growing needs.
“This brand-new logistics hub serving Taranaki is a key part of Toll New Zealand’s ongoing network transformation,” he said.
“It is also an investment in our hard-working and passionate team and will enable them to work more efficiently while providing best-in-class service to our customers.”
The new facility’s 1,700-square-metre warehouse, and 500-square-metre canopy, is five times the size of the previous New Plymouth depot. The centre’s increased capacity enables Toll’s New Plymouth team to process three times the amount of freight than the previous centre, ensuring Toll can keep pace with the growing e-commerce demands.

Toll New Plymouth Branch Manager, Willy Harvey, said he is already seeing a significant improvement in his team’s morale.
“Our previous building was more than 40 years old,” he said.
“The new building has been designed with our employees’ needs top of mind. The installation of Clearlite sheets has enhanced natural lighting and the office facilities are first class.”
The new facility is reported to be more accessible, located at the Connett Rd industrial estate that runs parallel with the State Highway 3 motorway.
The site demonstrates Toll’s commitment to both New Plymouth’s local freight industry and New Zealand’s sector more broadly.
Toll New Zealand currently employs more than 700 New Zealanders nationwide.
The new sorting facility and depot will serve as a great new addition to a rapidly growing city. Toll’s new site has now opened for business and is operating 24 hours a day.
